This last week my husband and I went down to our casita in mexico. I havn't been down but once in the last few years because of all the danger alerts.I'm glad I went. It is so beautiful and peaceful. No shopping near our place but there is beach combing.

It is safe to say that a lot of us San Diegans are still waiting for a taste of that summer heat.
I found this amazing vintage ice box and though I would put some energy into it in hopes the sun will come shining and I can use it to entertain outdoors.

Original French Laundry

Found this old Ivory soap bag and turned it into a pillow case, Lucy seems to love it.

I wanted to take a moment to shout out to the amazing vendors and the Urban Barn sale. A lot of these are people I have been shopping from and admiring for a long time and finally was able to sell along side them.

Drift away...

Drift wood is something that has always amazed me. The way in which wood tumbling along rocks, rough shores, and pounding waves comes out so soft, aged and beautiful. On my latest trip up the coast I collected as much as I could find. Not knowing exactly at the time what would come of it all. When I arrived home I came up with the idea to make drift wood crosses.
I feel as though they came out slightly rustic, very chic and the perfect piece to mix into a mantle decor, pottery collection or even a garden piece.

The Fleur of my labor

Took my usual trip down to Ocean Beach to re-vamp my space at Vignettes. I have so much fun seeing it all come together.
Last week I posted about the porcelain roses I found for my bottles. Here they are all finished, check them out at my space.

It is truly a sight to see something that was going to be one mans trash or simple decoration piece become its own singular treasure.

In the meantime I have some really incredible hand collected drift wood crosses in the works. Pictures of that coming tomorrow!

El Camino Del Norte

My husband, Mac and I took nice week roadtrip to northern California. Aside from coming down with a cold at the beginning I had the best time finding amazing goodies for all of you!
Here is the mass of great things I retrieved.

This is a picture of my space in Newport Antique center (OB)

This is my vignettes space after my trip. The cubbies, and pink iron bed have already gone to a good home!
I found some real hidden treasures up north and an insane new source for everything from large structural pieces to little glass floats. Best of all we got to visit my sister-in-law who we don't get to see nearly enough.

Wiggle room.

I've recently moved my space in Vignettes from the window to a larger space.

Seeing all of my new stuff together is so exciting. Within days a lot of it was gone, but I just took a great trip up the coast and tomorrow I will post all of my goodies from that adventure.
New bottle collection, intricate birdhouses, detailed lamps!

Here comes the sun!

With summer right around the corner and plans of entertaining on the mind I am prepping the house front to back. This past weekend I started with the front porch.

I found this whole vintage iron set to sell at my space at Vignettes in OB but then decided to keep it for the season. My potted Hydrangeas are still going strong from Rachel Ashwells book reading, also at Vignettes. I love live potted plants on the porch, it just bring the garden that much closer to being inside.
As you can see Lucy, my 1/2 yorkie 1/2pomeranian/shitzu/chihuahua, is already enjoying it.
I made this bird feeder out of an old ceiling light cover, hung it from some rope and added my favorite vintage chandelier details. It looks amazing in the garden and the birds love it.

Wrapped up the day of freshening up the yard with a salad pulled right from my garden, more info on that to come once it's really blooming!
